| Clinton home project set
Long-awaited improvements to the Clinton Birthplace Center grounds are becoming a reality for the staff and city of Hope. With a recent visit from Debbie Shock, operations and facilities director of the Clinton Library in Little Rock, and chief landscaper for the library, Greg Curtis, some definite plans have come along.“We are looking for some photos from the 1940's and 1950's of that area of town," Martha Berryman, museum director, said. “If we do not find what we are looking for as far as photos, we are just going with the general landscaping of that time period. Most houses had shrubs and plants."Berryman said crape myrtles in watermelon red were the rage in the 1930's and 1940'a eras. .
Travel, Gardening, Mozart... Square-Enix Branches Out
In a further effort not to be known as FF/DQ, Inc., Square-Enix is releasing a new series of games for the DS called "DS:Style." Games include World Walker DS, Won't You Listen To Classic Music With the DS? and Flower Bloom DS Gardening Life. The games are fairly self-explanatory. World Walker is based on a popular series of travel books by the same name and will include city/subway maps, currency calculation, world clocks for places like Thailand, France and Italy. The classical music title is packed with 100 of the "best classics" from Toshiba EMI and quizzes wanna-be music experts on who composed certain pieces. The gardening title is based on a popular NHK program and teaches names of different kinds of flowers and herbs. What's more it ranks players gardening knowledge. Doubt if these will see life outside of Japan, but nice to see Square-Enix try something that doesn't involve the letters "F," "D" or "Q." Even a giant can have growing pains, and Yahoo's periodic pummelings in the market reflect the Street's occasional difficulties in accepting the need for a longer view. Yes, there are some worrying indications, particularly its dwindling display ad growth rates, which hit 20% this quarter, dropping from 25% in the fourth quarter and 30% in the third quarter. But much of the perceived sputtering is being amplified by a need for short-term gratification, says Peter Zollman, founder and publisher of Classified Intelligence, an advertising consultancy and newsletter publisher in Altamonte Springs, Fla. "It seems to me that Wall Street has expected too-immediate results from all of the things that Yahoo is doing," Zollman says. "When you implement a new advertising system [Panama], it doesn't change your results within the first hours.
Long-Term Care Liability and Its Changing Landscape: Liability ...
HEADLINE:Long-Term Care Liability and Its Changing Landscape: Liability Insurance Continues to Go Through Ups and Downs. Here Are the Latest Trends.(Featurearticle) SUMMARY The relatively stable liability insurance picture for long-term care providers is driven by several factors. Significant tort reform in several states (most notably Florida and Texas, previously two of the most litigious long-term care liability states in the country) has helped reduce claim frequency and severity. Last, but not least, the growth in risk retention groups (RRGs), often implemented with aggressive risk management requirements for participants, has provided an attractive (and often cheaper) alternative to commercial insurance programs. .
