Prince Charles Put On His Gardening Outfit For Radio Show

London, England (BANG) - Britain's Prince Charles has revealed his favorite gardening outfit is a pair of black wellies and an old embroidered coat resembling a dressing gown. Charles posed in his comfortable get-up ahead of an interview with BBC Radio 4's 'Gardeners' Question Time', marking the show's 60th anniversary.

The prince often dons his camel-colored wool coat - believed to have been a gift from Pakistan - for time pottering in the garden.

In the interview, to be aired on Easter Sunday, listeners will hear the royal share his gardening tips with horticultural experts.

Charles told the show's chairman Eric Robson that his love of gardening went back to when he was a boy and he shared a vegetable patch with sister Princess Anne in the grounds of Buckingham Palace.

Spring gardening savings begin with Northwest Natural Yard Days

Beginning Sunday, April 15 everyone from Bellingham to Olympia can take advantage of savings of up to 25 percent on natural yard care products such as mulch mowers, bagged compost, bark mulch and water wands as part of the ninth-annual Northwest Natural Yard Days campaign.

The partnership between King County, the City of Seattle, the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency and 23 other agency members promotes environmentally friendly yard care by offering discounts on gardening products at 86 participating retail locations throughout the Puget Sound region.

"We continue to support the Northwest Natural Yard Days discounts every year because the reduced pricing encourages more people to practice natural yard care," said Gerty Coville, of the King County Solid Waste Division.

Front burner: trends, gadgets, products

Each year, a group of 11 Mayfield employees taste nearly 100 different types of ice cream. The employees' 10 to 12 favorites are then sampled by consumers who chime in with their expert opinions. The top four favorites become the newest flavors in the Mayfield line. This year's additions are Coconut Cake, Chocolate Cream Pie, Peanut Butterific and Olde Savannah Caramel.
